Iain: And you know full well that they’re not that kind of zombie
Heide: No, they are zombies where humans are partially turned into household appliances. What’s the right sound effect for that?
Iain:
Bzzzt! Ruuurrrrr! Meep-meep!
Heide: Yeah! Let’s record that, quickly. It could be useful.
Iain: We’ve made a film, haven’t we?
Heide: We sure have! What amazing fun it’s been. Let’s explain from the start. There’s a novel called Tech it to Heart that some of our readers might have already read.
Iain: One of our Big Tech series, where we imagine how irresponsible science might get out of
hand.
Heide: And we had one of those conversations, about how a short film, based on the concept would be fun.
Iain: So much fun. And so quick and easy to do!
Heide: So we persuaded ourselves that we could do it in a month. What a pair of idiots.
Iain: I think you mean: What an incredible challenge!
Heide: It’s lucky for everyone that we recorded our efforts, so that our readers can follow along with
some of our thoughts, ideas, and ill-conceived choices.
Iain: Short-form videos charting the whole thing.
Heide: Yep, so Tiktok, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube shorts
all have an ongoing series of daily insights into the madness.
Iain: Culminating in the release of the short film itself on 29th June
2025
Heide: I can’t wait for people to see our cinematic masterpiece! Although some of those platforms won’t support the entire eight and a half minutes’ length, so maybe head to Youtube for that.
Iain: And in the meantime, if people are excited for the film and want to catch up with the book, where should they go?
