A new Clovenhoof book! And a 99p book of the month!

Iain: Hello, friend. Winter feels it is a bit behind us now and we’re entering that extended British season known as ‘rain, rain and more rain’ or as Terry Pratchett would have said it, we’re now ‘in the old Indundation’.

Heide: But we’re writing to bring a little sunshine your way.

Iain: In fact, we are writing with good news and – *gasp* – EVEN BETTER NEWS!

Heide: First up, we have a new book coming out soon. I don’t know if any of our older subscribers remember but many years ago we wrote a silly comedy about Satan called Clovenhoof.

Iain: That book is older than some police officers now.

Heide: And we wrote a sequel or two or three because people seemed to enjoy it. And now, we’re absolutely delighted to say that the ninth book in the series, Hankypanky, is available for pre-order from Amazon.

Iain: So what’s it all about?

Heide: Well, I think this book stems from our fervent belief that Clovenhoof’s career as a rock star in the original Clovenhoof novel was over far too soon. His heavy metal band, Devil Preacher, came and went in a single chapter. So, in this book we’ve sent Clovenhoof and friends on the road, indeed as roadies, with a visiting heavy metal band.

Iain: It’s a cross-country infernal romp in a van, isn’t it?

Heide: Almost like Scooby Doo and friends in their Mystery Machine. In fact, this book also features a talking dog.

Iain: It’s amazing how often an intelligent animal turns up in our books.

Heide: It’s probably because all the humans are so stupid. Anyway, click the link and pre-order the book. We’ll be sharing more information as we get closer to publication date.

Iain: And we haven’t forgotten paperback readers and audiobook listeners. They will be available to order at some point soon. We hope to get the amazing Matthew Lloyd Davies to once again do the narration for us.

Heide: Our second bit of pleasant news is that we have another Book of the Month available at low low prices on Amazon from 26^th February to 1^st March. It’s Snowflake!

Iain: Ooh, Snowflake! Now, that’s the one about the unique character of Lori Belkin, who is forced to moved out by her parents because she needs to stand on her own two feet. I’ve always felt that she is the closest we’ve ever come to writing a female Clovenhoof.

Heide: I know what you mean. Lori is a fun-loving agent of chaos who becomes even more chaotic in the book, Snowflake, because she lays her hands on a magic pendant that enables her to – Well, maybe I shouldn’t give everything away.

Iain: I know we say this about a lot of our books but we REALLY did have a lot of fun writing Snowflake. And it features a donkey.

Heide: But it’s not a talking donkey, is it?

Iain: No, but it’s still cleverer than most of the human characters in the book.

Heide: We definitely have certain themes in our books.

Iain: I’m sure someone will write their English Literature doctoral thesis about us at some point.

Heide: Maybe…
