Iain: And is that 1980s TV star Michael Brandon out of Dempsey and Makepeace?
Heide: You know it is. You’re there.
Iain: He’s looking good for 76. But apart from the messing about and just soaking up the book-ish atmosphere, it was really pleasing to be nominated. We had a lot of fun writing those books (Books 4 and 5 are available for pre-order right now) and we hope it’s a series
that entertains our readers.
Heide: Books 4, 5 and 6 will all be published during 2022. We’re also trying to get the audiobooks produced as quickly as possible. The excellent narrator Matthew Lloyd Davies is working on them right now!
Iain: Actually, I’m off to Lincolnshire to do some Skegness Sam research after the Easter weekend.
Heide: Oh, I thought you were just going to visit your parents?
Iain: I can do both. There’s a thing with a tank in book 6, an actual military tank, and I’ve heard that there’s an old World War Two tank buried out in the sands on one of the beaches in the north of the county. I thought I might take my parents out for a walk, see if we can find it.
Heide: You’re taking your parents out on the shifting sands in search of buried tanks? Aren’t your parents in their seventies?
Iain: They’re always up for an adventure. I’ll report back on what I find.
Heide: You’re basically going searching for buried treasure.
Iain: If you will. Since we didn’t win the Selfies Award (sob!) I feel the need to go out and win a prize.
Heide: Most people would be satisfied with finding an Easter egg.
