Heide: It all takes place on one day when Sam Applewhite’s dad and Sam best friend, Delia, get caught up in a bank robbery and are taken hostage.
Iain: We did a lot of research and asked all the major high street banks about their safes and bank security (we really did) and they all said “er, no, we’re not telling you that.”
Heide: So, we did our research another way, spoke to some ex-bank employees, our favourite military advisor and watched a whole bunch of bank heist films.
Iain: Dog Day Afternoon, Baby Driver, The Town, Inside Man…
Heide: And Die Hard.
Iain: You don’t need any excuse to watch Die Hard, do you?
Heide: It’s my favourite Christmas movie. But what makes our story special is that Tigerheart is also a story about cabbages.
Iain: Indeed it is. Because it’s one of our books, people should expect it to contain some super fun stuff like vengeful cabbage farmers and donkeys and Dolly Parton tribute acts and a surprising death or two.
Heide: You can pre-order your copy here (there will also be a paperback and audiobook soon enough) but, as we prepare for the launch, we were wondering what we could do to celebrate the launch. I think something cabbage-related would
be fun.
Iain: Like we both go on the Cabbage Diet for a week and film the results?
Heide: Nothing quite so self-abusive. The cabbage is an excellent vegetable and since the book features cabbages so prominently, I think they could be the cornerstone of our launch celebrations. If our newsletter subscribers have any suggestions of fun, tasty or just daft things we can do with cabbages, please get in touch. All ideas will be
given serious consideration.
Iain: As long as it doesn’t involve wearing a launch costume made from cabbage leaves…
Heide: Elvis. This year, you will be dressed as Elvis. I’ve already bought the sequins.
