Heide: And what about your Christmas?
Iain: A few round trips to spend time with older relatives. And because we’re having various Christmas dinners with family in the days before and after Christmas, I think that, for the first time in my life, we might not have a traditional Christmas dinner on Christmas day.
Heide: Like just eat chocolate and drink cocktails?
Iain: Tempting but no. I think we’re going to concoct some alternative meal for the day itself. Not sure what yet. Maybe some of our subscribers have ideas.
Heide: My lot don’t like change. Not at all. I think it was the year before last when I rebelled and said that actually I quite wanted to eat Christmas pudding at Christmas pudding time.
Iain: That sounds normal. Is it not normal?
Heide: Not here. There will always be someone who has eaten too much who insists that we save it until later. Like September, maybe.
Iain: What else will you be doing over the festive period?
Heide: I am wondering whether I can justify making up this amazing pattern that I found in a charity shop. Anyone who was around in the 70’s will recognise the character as being Dougal from Magic Roundabout. It’s clearly not licenced merch though, as it’s called “Doogle” and looks as if someone produced it using a typewriter and one of those ancient
copying machines.
